in the Mediterranean sea

in cyprus

in the afternoon, at the entrance in the building, searching for keys, realizing that yet again i can’t get in.

saying again, because previously the management decided to lock the back door without prior notice (used to be ulocked), changed the lock also and after 3 days of me getting inside when someone ordered delivery,  they told me that finally i have a key and they pushed it under my door. and how am i supposed to get inside the building? that was a saga.

last evening, though, a different quest.took my car for a check and M.O.T..

my car is a mess. few weeks ago the wheel stopped working literally and i was without my mobile, without my apt. keys, without knowing any phone number i could call and scream for help. i drove with 10km per hour, all the lights on,  and could not take 90 degrees turns. after 2-3 hours the wheel fixed by itself.

one back light stopped working.

the front windows should be eletrical, but they only open when they want. so if a friends jumps in my car and pushes the button for the window it will not work. it gennerally goes like this.

‘your windows are not working’

‘yes, they are’

‘no, they are not’

then i push the buttons few times and voila!!!

the air conditioning is not working anymore. if i start it, the car stops. to fix it, on guy said 500 euros. better buy another car. agreed.

i have a very complex cd-player/radio, with usb and tv slots. anyway. is not working, so i asked the guys from the garage to remove it.

the shades felt (the ones to cover the sun, in front).

on a different note, the car is strong and (when the wheel is working) a very pleasant drive. never had problems with it to let me down (again, apart from the wheel story). it always seems to take me where i want to reach. so i’m kinda fond of it as it is.

back to the keys: i left the keys at the garage with the car keys. i call the guy, he says come back, i go. i wait in front of the gate for 5 min. he comes, gets me inside. i realize that the gate wasn’t locked,  realize that my car windows are down fully,  realize that he takes the keys from the car. i remember i’m in cyprus and this should not worry me at all. wide open car with the keys in the contact, my apt keys as well and papers inside for a probable thief to quickly match the keys with an address.

oh yes. he had a dog inside. somewhere. didn’t bark or meow.

caturday at it’s best

i’ve left facebook and i’m considering the same for linked in. too many people that i barely know, or that i know but i don’t have any interest in, add me as their friend. which i’m not.

i’m back blogging.  the pleasure i get from daily checking my friend’s blog pushed me to return the favour. and of course, the pleasures of writing.

recent past. been in the north cyprus for the first time, with no clear intention other than: to reach the most eastern point, to see wild donkeys and to find the golden beaches that they say outcome the ones from the south. and the evergreen reason to go to the north, drink efes.

all checked.

ate in iskele. satisfactory as food intake (the beer was at it’s best, a bit blurry and very fresh), but did not find a proper turkish taverna.

roamed around and took right at every sign with: beach. never really reached one.

found dipkaraz. saw donkeys. found the turtles beach (apparently in top 10 beaches around the world).

dipkaraz

drunk another efes.

met this guy on the way back:
